Overseeing the Spiritual Health of the Church…
Jesus Christ is the head of the church. Living Hope Community Church desires to follow Him according to His word to accomplish His will.
Undershepherds are men of the church tasked with the responsibility of overseeing the spiritual health of the church. The undershepherds meet regularly to pray for the people of Living Hope and to ask the Lord for His guidance. They serve those at Living Hope through preaching, teaching, guarding and proclaiming God’s word.
The Board of Trustees is a group of elected men and women charged with three things. First, they are responsible for the financial accountability of Living Hope. Second, they are responsible for making sure that Living Hope is in full compliance with State and Federal laws pertaining to non-profit corporations. Third, they keep the undershepherds and pastors accountable for following the vision of the church.
Scott Kalevik has served as our pastor since the inception of Living Hope in 1996. He holds a B.A. from C.U. in Psychology and Philosophy. He also graduated with a Masters of Divinity from Denver Seminary. He is married to his beautiful bride, Peggy. Together, they authored Living Hope: A Daily Devotional as a tool to strengthen and encourage believers in their daily walk with the Lord.
Carlos Aguilar moved to Aurora in November of 2002 from Amatitlan, Guatemala where he served as pastor for many years. He has served as pastor of Iglesia Esperanza Viviente since it’s inception in 2003. He is married to his beautiful bride, Vicky.
Scott speaks only English. Carlos speaks only Spanish. The staff meetings are interesting.
1 Peter 5:2 “Care for the flock of God entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly–not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God.”
